Reports.re allows you to quickly translate subtitles from one language to another using the Video Editor. This is helpful for creating multilingual content without redoing subtitles from scratch.
Before You Begin
- Make sure the target language subtitle job already exists before duplicating the project.
- Confirm that your original subtitle project (in English) is complete and ready for duplication.
- After translation, you can manually fine-tune or edit the results for better accuracy.
1. Open the English Subtitle Job
- Navigate to the "Subtitles" job where the original language (e.g., English) is used.
- Open the light file manager.
- At the bottom-left corner, click the "Project" icon.
- A list of video editor projects will appear for the current subtitle job.
2. Duplicate the Subtitle Project
- Find the project that contains the English subtitles and click the three-dot menu.
- Choose "Duplicate".
- Select "Duplicate to other job".
- Choose another "Subtitles" job where the target language (e.g., Spanish) is set.
- Click "Select Job" to confirm.
3. Open the Duplicated Project
- After duplication, the video editor will automatically open the project in the selected target language job.
4. Translate the Subtitles
- In the video editor, click the subtitle icon at the top.
Once the subtitle panel appears:
- Click the "Language" dropdown.
- Select your desired target language (e.g., Spanish).
Click the "Translate" icon to begin the translation.
5. Wait for Translation to Complete
- The system will process the translation automatically.
- Once finished, the subtitles will appear in the selected language.
