Reports.re allows you to quickly generate voiceovers from existing subtitles using built-in text-to-speech tools. This is useful for localizing videos or creating accessible content in multiple languages without recording audio manually.
1. Open the Subtitle Job
- Navigate to a job labeled "Subtitles" (e.g., one using Spanish as the language version).
- Open the light file manager
- Click the "Project" icon located at the bottom-left corner.
2. Duplicate the Project to a Voice-over Job
- From the project list, click the three-dot menu next to the project that contains the video with the subtitles.
- Choose "Duplicate".
- Select "Duplicate to other job".
- Choose a "Voice-over" job that matches your desired target language (e.g., Spanish).
- Click "Select Job" to confirm.
3. Open the Video Editor
- The video editor will launch automatically in the selected "Voice-over" job.
- Click the subtitle icon at the top to open the Subtitle Panel.
4. Generate the Voiceover
- In the subtitle panel, click "Voice-over Subtitles".
- In the voiceover panel that opens:
- Choose your preferred voice.
- Click "Text-to-Speech".
- Wait a few moments for the voiceover to be generated.
- Once ready, click "Use This Result for VE" to insert the generated voiceover into the audio lines.
5. Manage Audio Overlap
After inserting, there will now be two audio lines:
- The original (e.g., English)
- The newly generated voiceover (e.g., Spanish).
To avoid overlap:
- Select and mute the original voiceover (e.g., English).
6. Adjust Voiceover Timing
- Since the voiceover is generated from translated subtitles, timing may be slightly off.
- Select one of the voiceover snippet.
- Use the speed control feature to adjust the voiceover so it syncs better with the video.
