There are times when published content needs to be removed from a social media platform—whether due to updates, mistakes, or changes in strategy. Reports.re allows you to delete posts from external platforms while preserving all related information inside your workspace.
This approach ensures that your publishing history, data, and references remain accessible, even after the content is no longer publicly available.
1. Deleting a Post from an External Platform
To delete a post while keeping its record in Reports.re:
- Go to the Posts section.
- Use filters to narrow down results and locate the specific card or post.
- Click Search to display the filtered results.
- Hover over the post you want to remove.
- Click the three-dot menu.
- Select "Delete Content".
- Confirm to delete post by clicking "Delete".
This action removes the content from the external platform (such as YouTube), but does not delete the post record from Reports.re.
2. What Happens After Deletion
Once the deletion is confirmed:
- The post is removed from the external platform.
- The post remains stored in Reports.re for reference and tracking.
- The post status is updated and marked as deleted.
- Clicking the original platform link will show that the content is no longer available.
This ensures transparency and record-keeping without losing historical data.
3. Permission Requirements for Deleting Content
For security reasons, deleting content from external platforms requires a special permission.
Only the workspace owner can assign this permission.
To grant the permission:
- Hover Workspace Settings from the sidebar.
- Click Workspace Members.
- Navigate to the People section to view all members.
- Select a user and open Roles and Permissions.
- Search for "Delete content from external platform".
- Add the permission to the user’s role.
Once assigned, the user will be able to delete published content from external platforms.
Important Notes
- Deleting content is handled as a separate permission.
- Without this permission, no user can delete published posts.
- This prevents accidental or unauthorized content removal.
